Hardy Kiwi Berries
The hardy kiwi is a tough, vigorous vine related to the common kiwi. It produces tiny, grape-sized kiwi berries that can be eaten skin-on. Unlike the standard kiwi, hardy kiwis are tolerant to extremely cold temperatures, allowing farmers to cultivate them from Virginia to New England.
We have hardy kiwi vines here at Artemisia, but they are years away from being ready to produce. These berries are coming from Kiwi Berry Organics, a Pennsylvania farm specializing in hardy kiwis. While a few growers in Virginia are branching into kiwi territory, most are still unfamiliar with this amazing fruit. We're hoping to change that!
