Native to northwestern Italy, Dolcetto is a small, inky-dark grape defined by floral notes and berries.  It leads with fine, moderate tannins without too much heft, making it an all-purpose, easy-pairing red.  Its name means "little sweet one" and while as a finished wine it is anything but sweet, its approachability lends it a certain endearing quality lost to more intense wines.

About Giuseppe Bocchino Canelli

Bocchino is a family-run winery in business since the mid-nineteenth century when it was already exporting wine to America by sea, in small wooden barrels. The family women play an important role in the company. The company's motto, handed down by grandfather Aurelio, is: "From bad grapes you can make only bad wine, from good grapes you can make both good wine and bad wine". Everything is carried out in compliance with this motto, from the meticulous work in the vineyards and in the cellar, with love for the land, dedication and particular care handed down from generation to generation with pride. Bocchino Giuseppe Azienda Agricola is located in the heart of the Piemonte UNESCO world heritage site of traditional wine growing regions. Situated between Langhe and Monferrato, the 12 Bocchino vineyards are divided between Canelli, Cru del Moscato d’Asti, and Corneliano.
