Madeira Martini

Madeira gets a bad rap in cocktails.  It's a real shame.  Like sherry, madeira adds an oxidative backdrop, acidity, and a little boozy oomph to cocktails with infinite measurability.  Dry Madeira, in particular, is especially glass-friendly.  Want it sweeter?  Add a little simple syrup.

Preparation

  1. Combine the madeira, gin, and blackberry liqueur in a shaker over ice and shake until well-chilled. 
  2. Strain into a coupe glass and serve.
