Winter CSA 2025
Winter CSA 2025
Weekly Seasonal Produce
The winter CSA is a smaller, simpler version of our main-season CSA. The focus is on hardy greens, roots, alliums, mushrooms, and fruit (like apples, pears, and regional citrus). On any given week, you might find young greens and beets from our farm, apples from the orchard down the road, and sweet potatoes from friends not far.
Our winter CSA combines winter produce from our farm with that of other nearby farms. It’s an opportunity to support local farms through the months when they need it most.
The Winter CSA runs from Jan 4th to March 31st, 2025.
What is a CSA?
What is a CSA?
CSA stands for “Community Supported Agriculture.” A CSA is an arrangement in which individuals pay for a regular share of the products produced by a farm. CSAs come in many forms, but the end goal is always to connect directly with farmers and the local foodweb.
What to Expect in a Share
What to Expect in a Share
-
Each week, you’ll receive a box of mostly vegetables and occasional fruit, typically enough for 2-4 people for one week. Each box includes 5-6 varieties of produce.
A typical winter share may include:
- A bulky root (potatoes, sweet potatoes, rutabaga, celeriac)
- A lighter root (radishes, parsnips, beets, turnips)
- An allium (onions, garlic)
- Salad greens (grown indoors: baby greens, pea shoots, sunflower shoots)
- Overwintered specialties (winter squash, apples, etc.)
- A weekly newsletter email with the week's items, recipe ideas, & more which goes out on the Friday before your share arrives so you can plan your week accordingly
- Option to skip any week for any reason or to donate your share to a local foodbank
- Add-Ons (like eggs, cheeses, wine, and more) for purchase each week through our Marketplace
- Free access to our online Recipe Box
