Crème de Mûre is made by macerating whole blackberries in spirits. At the Langlois estate, blackberries hedges grow along the edges of their vineyards. Along with the grapes, they make a polyculture of heirloom crops traditional to the region.
Only the largest, ripest berries are harvested. Once picked, the berries are promptly frozen to preserve their aromatics and freshness. After the harvest is finished, the berries are thawed and infused into spirits, where their sugars slowly concentrate into a luscious, dense liqueur.

About Catherine & Michel Langlois
Langlois Pere et Fils is a 3rd generation winery with estates in Nièvre, Coteaux du Giennois, and Pouilly-Fumé. Established in 1996, they have over 17 hectares of vines and fruit, all grown sustainably. The first vines were planted in the 1950s by Frédéric Langlois. At the time, monoculture grape vineyards were still an anomaly in the region. They continue the tradition of integrated growing today by cultivating black currants alongside their grapevines.
