Ginger-Mint G+T

Ginger-Mint G+T

Cool juniper meets warming ginger against a backdrop of mint.  Especially good after an honest day's work in the garden.

Ingredients

Preparation

  1. Add gin, tonic, mint syrup, & lime juice to a shaker over ice.
  2. Stir generously enough to integrate the syrup, but not so much that you lose the bubbles of the tonic.
  3. Strain into a collins glass filled with ice and garnish with mint.
To make your own mint syrup: bring 1 cup water and ½ cup sugar in a sauce pan and bring to a gentle boil.  Add ½ cup mint leaves and reduce heat to a simmer.  Cook for 10 minutes, stirring occasionally.  Transfer to a metal bowl and allow to steep for another 10 minutes.  Strain the herbs from the syrup and store in the refrigerator.
