Shōga means "ginger" in Japanese. True to its name, this cocktail leans heavily on Pink House Alchemy's floral ginger syrup. Made from fresh ginger, it maintains the delicate aromatics lost to drying. Barley shochu is a subtle and weightless counterpoint.
Ingredients
- 2 oz iichiko "Silhouette" Shochu
- ¾ oz Pink House Alchemy Ginger Syrup
- ½ oz fresh lime juice
- 2-3 dashes Hella Eucalyptus Bitters
- Spearmint sprig
Preparation
- Combine the shochu, ginger syrup, lime juice, and bitters (to taste) in a shaker over ice and stir to combine. Strain into a Nick & Nora glass and garnish with the mint sprig.
