Marsala Bloody Mary

Marsala Bloody Mary

Kelly Allen

Dry Marsala adds extra umami flavor to this otherwise classic Bloody Mary.  Lighter on the alcohol and (dare we say) better on the palate, it's a great option for brunch or a passable serving of vegetables anytime after 5 PM.

Ingredients

  • 1½ oz Ostinato Fine Ambra Secco Marsala
  • ½ oz lemon juice
  • 4 oz tomato juice
  • 3 dashes Tabasco sauce or your favorite hot sauce
  • 10 dashes Worcestershire sauce
  • Celery stalk, for garnish (jazz this up, if you'd like!)

Preparation

  1. Combine the marsala, lemon juice, tomato juice, hot sauce, and Worcestershire sauce in a collins glass over ice.  Stir well and garnish with the celery stalk.  Add whatever other edible ornaments feel right.
