Extra Sprezzatura

Extra Sprezzatura

Kelly Allen

Sprezzatura is an Italian term for a certain casual nonchalance.  It's a kind of pleasantly disheveled style that's somehow both elegant and relaxed, like a effortlessly untucked shirt.

Think studied carelessness and unfussy precision.

Ingredients

  • 1 oz Amaro Nonino Quintessentia
  • ½ oz mezcal
  • ¼ oz honey simple syrup
  • ¼ oz lemon juice
  • 1 dash Bittermens Orange Cream Citrate
  • 2 oz sparkling dry rosé, well-chilled, separated

Preparation

  1. In a cocktail shaker over ice, combine the Nonino, mezcal, honey syrup, lemon juice, and citrate.  Shake until very cold.
  2. Gently add 1 ½ oz of the sparkling rosé to the shaker.  Strain into a flute glass and top with the remaining sparkling rosé.
