This cocktail takes its name from the large old oak barrels used to age Basque cider. Especially savory, this cocktail is very food-friendly; in particular it would pair nicely with some aged goat or sheep cheese.
Ingredients
- 2 ounces Isastegi Basque Cider
- 1 ounce bourbon — we used Hudson Whiskey NY "Bright Lights" Bourbon
- ½ ounce blanc vermouth, such as Atxa Blanco
- Sliced apples, as garnish
Preparation
- Combine the cider, bourbon, and vermouth in a shaker over ice and stir to combine.
- Pour into a rocks glass over a large ice cube and garnish with the apple slice.
