Crescent Simples lime-jalapeño syrup takes the place of agave syrup and orange liqueur in this spicy spin on the classic Margarita cocktail. It's a minimalist recipe with the tequila taking center stage, so don't skimp on the quality. One great cocktail is better than a bottle's worth of mediocrity.
Ingredients
- 2 oz Tres Agaves Blanco Tequila
- ¾ oz lime juice, plus more for glass
- ½ oz Lime-Jalapeño Crescent Simples Syrup
- ½ oz Grand Marnier
- Pinch of salt, plus more as needed
- Lime wedge, for garnish
Preparation
- In a shallow bowl or small plate, pour a few ounces of lime juice. In a similar vessel, create a low layer of salt. Carefully dip the rim of a rocks glass into the juice, then into the salt.
- Add the tequila, lime juice, lime-jalapeño syrup, Grand Marnier, and salt to a shaker over ice. Shake until well-chilled.
- Strain into the salt-rimmed rocks glass over ice and garnish with the lime wedge.
