Strawberries with Orange Cream

Fresh strawberries need little adornment.  Orange-scented whipped cream, stabilized with a little sour cream, and a few sprigs of fresh mint are more than enough. 


  • 2 cups heavy cream
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 4 tbsp powdered sugar
  • 2 tbsp Cointreau, plus more for serving
  • 1 quart strawberries, quartered
  • Fresh spearmint, for serving


  1. In a large, wide bowl, whip the cream until it holds soft peaks.  Whip in the powdered sugar.  Gently fold in the sour cream and the Cointreau.
  2. Carefully portion the cream into coupe glasses or ramekins.  Arrange the berries in the center.  Drizzle with a little extra Cointreau and garnish with the spearmint.  Best served while still cool.
