French Margarita

French Margarita

Andrew Napier

Not at all a traditional margarita. Instead, we have here something more delicate and languid. Imagine a lazy day in the south of France, along the Mediterranean, in the heat of summer, salt in the air.  You want a cocktail that suits the heat but doesn't break the environment.

Ingredients

Preparation

  1. Place half the oregano into a cocktail shaker and gently muddle, just enough to let the oils release and become aromatic.
  2. Add ice, tequila, vermouth, lime juice, and bitters to the shaker and stir.
  3. Add ice to a rocks glass, strain the cocktail into the glass, and tuck the remaining oregano into the side of the glass.
