French Margarita
Andrew NapierNot at all a traditional margarita. Instead, we have here something more delicate and languid. Imagine a lazy day in the south of France, along the Mediterranean, in the heat of summer, salt in the air. You want a cocktail that suits the heat but doesn't break the environment.
Ingredients
- 1½ oz tequila joven
- 1½ oz C. Comoz Vermouth Blanc de Chambery (or other French blanc vermouth)
- ½ oz fresh lime juice
- 1 dash Artemisia Elderflower Juniper Bitters
- 4-5 sprigs oregano
Preparation
- Place half the oregano into a cocktail shaker and gently muddle, just enough to let the oils release and become aromatic.
- Add ice, tequila, vermouth, lime juice, and bitters to the shaker and stir.
- Add ice to a rocks glass, strain the cocktail into the glass, and tuck the remaining oregano into the side of the glass.
