Weingut Von Winning Riesling "Winnings" 2022

Von Winning Winery was founded in 1849. They planted their first vineyards outside the towns of Ruppertsberg, Deidesheim, and Forst, with most of their acreage given to Riesling and later, some Sauvignon Blanc and Pinot Noir. In 1907, Leopold von Winning took the helm of the operation, increasing the quality of the wines in-house and beyond as a founding member of the VDP (Verband Deutscher Prädikatsweingüter) an organization promoting skilled German wine production. In the vineyard, Von Winnings is dedicated to sustainable cultivation, using organic viticultural methods and high-density planting layouts. They eschew "efficient" mechanized cultivation methods in favor of a slower, more ecologically-friendly approach.
