This unique lambrusco is made entirely from the Grappello Ruberti grape. Grappello is thought to come from the local dialect's gropo, which means "knot." Ruberti is thought to be a surname, possibly of a viticulturist or landowner.
"Ruberti's Knot" is and is known for its dense, compact bunching pattern (thus resembling a knot). It's also synonymous with the Lambrusco Viadenese variety.
In the glass, this is an intensely pigmented lambrusco variety with plenty of acidity. The palate is floral and lightfooted, with violets and wild rose at the center. Pairs well with cured meats, tomatoes, chicken, lentils, and anything off the grill.
