Nostos Recordings: Issue 02

Nostos Recordings is an annual magazine authored by Artemisia Farm & Vineyard. Each issue is a collection of stories, recipes, and photographs centered around how we eat and live. The name Nostos refers to a return or a homecoming.  Nostos is an ancient Greek term that refers to a traveler’s return after a long journey.  Our work in food and wine is much the same.

In this issue, we’re focusing the lens on local changemakers. These
are people and collectives whose work goes beyond the consumable: a trio of musicians-turned-mindful brewers, an impassioned chef overhauling his own industry, and a winery incubator leveling the playing field in the name of equality. Stories like these are where our shared future begins.

This issue is split into Six sections

• Pen Druid: A Beginner’s Mind: Three brothers find a creative practice in mindful brewing. 
• Recipes: Simple Beginnings: Small, simple dishes. Nothing extraneous. Careful progress. Purposeful ease. 
• Christian Irabién: Burn it Down: Local chef tosses a broken restaurant culture out the window. 
• Recipes: Midseason Fare: Bright colors. Bold shapes. Brash flavors. Whimsical abandon.
• Common Wealth Crush: A "What If" Ethos: Custom-Crush-Meets-Business-Incubator-Meets-Thinktank-Cooperative.
• Recipes: A Shared Table: After the adventure, the return. Deep restoratives in plate and cup.
