Sustainably farmed from high-altitude, non-irrigated vineyards, Genio Español's wines are a portrait of traditional Spanish high-dessert winegrowing. Each cluster is carefully crushed and fermented in stainless steel, ensuring a bright, youthful finish in the bottle.
One finds rustic red fruit, earth, and spice on the nose, with plenty of tannin and a touch of minerality on the palate. An exceptionally food-friendly wine that shines at cellar temperature or with a slight chill.

About Genio Español
Having operated in Jumilla for nearly 40 years, winemaker Andres Bastida used his knowledge of the region to establish Genio Español, a high-quality, craft production solely focused on Monastrell. With desert-like conditions, Jumilla was decimated in the early 20th century by the phylloxera outbreak of Europe and the rehabilitation of the region was focused on drought-resistant varieties; Monastrell now makes up for 80% of Jumilla’s plantings and 100% of Genio Español’s wines.
