Lebanese micro-terroir at its best. A blend of organically-farmed Cabernet Sauvignon, Syrah, Cinsault, and Carignan, the 2021 vintage is a portrait of the western Lebanese Bekaa Valley. The Tourelles vineyards sit at an altitude of 1,050 meters above sea level, on dry-farmed, sandy limestone and clay. Each vintage in hand-harvested and vinified with native yeasts, then aged for an additional two years in concrete. The result is a beautifully integrated, table-ready bottling with a balance of unhindered fruit and spice on the palate.
About Domaine de Tourelles
About Domaine de Tourelles
Domaine des Tourelles is Lebanon's oldest commercial winery, established in 1868 by the French adventurer François-Eugène Brun. In 2000, it was bought by the Issa and Issa-el-Khoury families and today is run by Faouzi Issa and his two sisters, Christiane and Joanne, as well as Emile Issa-el Khoury. Faouzi took over winemaking duties at the age of 24, with full dedicated to organic viticulture and minimal interference in the cellar. He ferments with only native yeasts, uses vegetarian fining agents when necessary, filters the wine with locally grown dried thistle, and adds nothing else except for small amounts of sulfur at bottling. Faouzi is was born and raised in the Bekaa Valley, and his vintages reflect his deep dedication to his homeland.
