A high-elevation, old school aglianico from the Taurasini sub-region of Campania. "Campi Taurasini" means "little Taurasi fields," and the wines of this region fall well in line with their namesake. Aglianico from Taurasini require a less stringent aging protocol, resulting in fresh, fruit-centric aglianico with balanced tannins and plenty of richness.
Bold and structured, the nose leads with black pepper and leather, while the palate brings concentrated dark fruit and a decidedly meaty finish.
About Colli di Lapio
About Colli di Lapio
The windblown slopes of Campania’s mountains host some of the most spectacular vineyards in Italy, planted to varieties that have been cultivated since the time of the ancient Greeks. The estate of Clelia Romano (named after the winemaker), from which Colli di Lapio makes its wines, is from vineyards around the Lapio village, northeast of Avellino. An ancient site with a rich lineage of beautiful winemaking. Winemaker Clelia Romano and her daughter, Carmela, dedicate themselves tirelessly to the organic production of varieties native to their region. Their aglianico is known for its drinkability and poise, while their fiano has won countless awards.
