This single-vineyard blend comes from Cambridge Road's "Homeblock in Martinborough. Planted in the stony soil of a dry river fringe, vines grown here yield grapes with intense minerality and structure. Coupled with a nearly equal blend of Riesling and Pinot Noir, the resulting wine is expressive and aromatic. This is a bottle with some aging potential, best enjoyed within the next four years.

About Cambridge Road
Cambridge Road is located in Martinborough Terrace at the lower end of the North Island of New Zealand. This geological deposit of weathered river-born sandstone and windblown dust was formed approximately 20,000 years ago at the confluence of the Huangarua and Ruamahanga rivers. The grapes are grown using a combination of organic and bio-dynamic principles, while inside the winery, production is minimal intervention. Their goal is to leave as much of the naturally-occurring vineyard microbiome in tact throughout fermentation. The wild yeasts and bacteria of the vineyard are just as integral to terroir expression as the soil and climate.
