An unusual, 100% Californian Cortese from Lost Slough Vineyard. Cortese is seldom found outside of Italy. In California's generous climate, it takes on a fullness and weight wholly unique to the variety.
Lost Slough Vineyard is a coastal site, and the resulting vintage holds nothing back. Both broad and saline, it meshes ripeness with oceanic influence for an entirely food-friendly bottling.
Foot stomped and stainless steel fermented. Aged for five months.
Got Grapes is a yearly novelty. The original vintage was a red and white blend. Each year following was something different. It's a reminder to tug on the thread of curiosity and to try something new.
About Broc Cellars
About Broc Cellars
Broc cellars is an urban winery located in Berkeley, California. They're entirely dedicated to sustainable production, in the winery and in the vineyard. They use organically-grown grapes for all of their vintages, harvesting early for more balanced acid profile and less disease risk in the vineyard. An early harvest means less sugar in the fruit, a more manageable situation in a busy cellar. All Broc wines undergo spontaneous fermentation, which means only native yeasts and bacteria that exist on the grapes are used to make the wine. Everything is left as raw as possible, with minimal sulfur applied only at bottling. Broc sources their grapes from all over California, working with vineyards as far south as Paso Robles and as far north as Mendocino. All of the vineyards are small and family-owned.
