Bocchino's Barbera is cultivated by hand in Canelli utilizing sustainable viticultural methods and totally renouncing vineyard herbicides. The vineyards are managed by horse and plow, and the winery itself is still a small, family operation. Traditionally, Canelli has been known for its Moscato Bianco, the base wine for Moscato d'Asti. The same cool temperatures and steep, rocky incline that give Moscato Bianco grapes their bracing acidity also give this Barbera a light-footed elegance seldom seen in lowland vineyards.
